Re: the Warburton experience? I would seek out Chris LaBarbera (goes by the name of "Mr. Hollywood" on TM and TH). I believe he most frequents trumpetherald.com...but I've seen him post here also. Chris is a tremendous player and is extremely knowledgeable about Warburton products. Best of luck...

Re: the Warburton experience? I borrowed a set of 5-6 tops and several backbores from a friend and was able to dial in to my favorite within a week or less. Currently I use a 3M top and a 6 or 7 backbore. I like their system a lot. I picked my 3M cup as 'best for me' out of not only the Warburton set but also another 20+ pieces my friend lent me along with them. Greg

Re: the Warburton experience? I am no Chris LaBarbera, but I do use Warburton mouthpieces for all my horns. It is VERY nice to beable to interchange what I need when I need it. I play everything consistantly on their size 4 tops, which makes switching to different horns a heck of a lot better... same size, same feel... its great. I use their anchorgrip tops too, just because of my fleshy lips... really makes a difference for me! Anywho, at least give them a shot.. you may really like them!

| Mezzo Forte User | Re: the Warburton experience? When I last was looking for a new mouthpiece I tried a bunch of different Warburton combinations. For every one, I couldn't deal with the tightness in the throat. The mouthpieces seemed to not let enough air through them...at least not the way I wanted. I was at a Warburton masterclass when I was in 1st year college. He is a very well informed guy and really has tried it all to get the finest piece he can make. They just didn't suit me. |

Re: the Warburton experience? I felt the same way, I actually found a couple online that were 'opened' up. It was better, but wrote a thread a while back asking if I should do it more...turns out I didn't want to mess around, dumped it, and found something else (bought a GR btw, oh yeah!).
