![]() | Yup. The area around the rim is skeletonized (if that's the term) like the old coronet mouthpieces. Having used a similar rim in the past, I can tell you that it felt as though I didn't need as much mouthpiece pressure to maintain a solid sound which wouldn't split apart. Whether that is actuality or optical illusion, I could not specifically tell you.
