![]() | What's your Marcinkiewicz mpc experience? I currently play on a Curry 1M for all of my playing situations. I have recently started trying out different Marcinkiewicz mouthpieces because I wanted a more sizzling sound for lead work and a warmer sound for legit work. I really like the bright projecting sound of the E13 C. Findley signature series for lead work. However, the cup is a hair too shallow bottom out after a while) and the sound is very thin in the lower register. I tried the E10 B. Findley and the rim diameter felt too small for me. I also liked the cup depth of the E11 Tyzic, but the rim is way too small. I have also recently tried the 2/7B for legit work. The sound is fine except I loose volume in the upper register and the rim is a hair to small. The next size is a 1/5B and my intonation was just all over the place with that. Mainly, i started playing flat at about 4th space "e" on up. Has anyone had a similar experience with Marcinikiewicz mouthpieces? I believe they have a lot of potential and I want to like them. Unfortunately, I can not seem to find the right fit. |

The C. Findley seems to have more projection and sizzle for me than the Curry lead pieces. I guess I could be happy with the Findley cup on a Curry 1 rim. I will shoot curry an email and see what he says. With the Marcinkiewicz 2/7B, I feel like I can get around a lot easier on it than My Curry 1B and 1BC. It still has a good sound for legit work, but it still has the negative that I listed above in my original post. Also, I considered the cost of getting something custom might be a little too expensive. I started looking into marcinkiewicz because the cost of the mouthpieces were so cheap and the cost to have a custom one made is still cheaper than the cost of some stock mouthpieces offered by GR, monette, Reeves, etc.. | |

They are also very good at helping you get a good fit. Contact Bob at info@marcinkiewicz.com, you will be glad you did. Tell him Phil Rinaldi says hi.

![]() | Re: What's your Marcinkiewicz mpc experience? I play a Vizzuti model for big band and it is very comfortable and gives my horn that "edge" for that style of music. I normally play on Reeves 42 series and it is very easy to switch back and forth. Dave

![]() | Re: What's your Marcinkiewicz mpc experience? I emailed Marc. about a possible custom piece. They got back to me in less than 24 hours and suggested a different stock piece to try 1st. Excellent customer focus. I talked to Bob. He makes custom pieces there. |

As I said above, he helped me out a lot in the past and is very knowledgable. He is very careful with other people's money and tries to help you find the best mouthpiece for you without killing your wallet. You can also talk to Joe Marcinkiewicz's son, Yasha. He is a great guy and learning the trade from his father.
