![]() | Agreed, the woman is a moron. Yes, she needs a therapist (and maybe some good drugs). But, handcuffing her, arresting her and throwing her in the lockup (she was), I think was a bit much. She didn't call in a fire or a crime, she even told the operator it was not an emergency, but she just wanted to see the cop again. Disturbed. Desperate. Lonely. Intoxicated? The cop could have politely declined, chided her for five minutes about misusing the 911 system, and given her a desk appearance ticket so that she could get some court-ordered counselling. That was probably all that was necessary IMHO. -Stu |

| Forte User | Sorry, but I'm with the cop here. The 9/11 system is STRICTLY for emergency purposes only. THat is only blindingly obvious to ANYONE who knows what it is at all. Tying up that operator's time trying to hunt down some cop you have the hots for is simply unacceptable. Maybe seems a bit harsh, but this is no simple annoyance they're dealing with here....

![]() | I live in Buffalo MN. I found a wallet and wanted to turn it in. When I called the police station they told me to hang up and call 911. At the time I was standing on the sidewalk in front of the police station. Being after hours I could not walk in and drop it off, all the doors were locked with the police inside. Brad |

You would not believe the things people call the cops for. Lost their keys Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe a person walking (where they are legally able to walk) they are lonely (not suicidal) Whatever you do, do not call 911 and tell them the cops are in a fight, beating up your brother, son, daughter, sister, uncle, cousin, step-relative, auntie, friend etc.... Because when that happens they send a lot more cops. I think I have posted this before, but it is so fitting for this conversation. http://www.ebaumsworld.com/bk.html | |
