| American Idol Predictions After watching Idol I'll simply make four statements: 1) Katharine is a true musician and deserves to win because as Simon has said so many times -- IT IS A SINGING CONTEST. She was musically better on all 3 tunes tonight. She may not have the stage presence that he has, but he is 29 and has been performing live for many years. She is 21 and in 8 years she will have the same stage presence as he has, but her voice will be 100 times better than his. Musically she was the best all season, and Elliott was second best! 2) No matter who wins Idol, Katharine will be the superstar to emerge from this season very much like Clay did in his season as an Idol finalist but not winner. She will have a hit CD out later this year, and her music will be widely accepted on the radio, something that will be a major problem for Taylor (he's much more fun to watch than listen to). 3) Taylor will have a great career as a stage performer in a place like Las Vegas. He will have one hit CD because people will buy his first CD if he wins American Idol tomorrow night. If he loses he will be forgotten on the national scene within 2-years 4) Katharine has studied well with her mother and I have enjoyed her performances. I'd be willing to bet that the other 11 finalists have less musical talent than 50%-60% of the people who post on TM. It's a shame that God gave us our talent to play the trumpet instead of the ability to sing popular tunes that would go over well on the radio! |

| I don't really agree some some of that, but I'll add number five: #5. The song that Katherine was forced to sing lost the competition for her. Taylor's was only marginally better. During both of them, I felt like I was at a school assembly designed to bolster self-esteem and get me pumped for another round of standardized testing. I like both of the final two, but those two "singles" were horrible. |

| Forte User | Taylor will win because he is really annoying. He has the "pop star" moves, and that's what people are looking for. I think Simon is fooling himself. After hearing my 6th graders talk, Taylor is a clear favorite up here. |

| I can't stand the "dumbing down" of America as I call it... The terrorists will not have to fly planes into buildings to beat us. They will just simply start producing this stupid crap "Reality TV" and while were in our home glued to our TV's like zombies they will just march into the country and take it over.. I'm with 40cal... American Idol more like American Jack*** Only I wanted to stick a pick ax in my ear!!! With the exception of Kelly Clarkson or what ever her name is; it's all a bunch of watered down PoP-corn... When did TV become reality anyway? Maybe it's just me; I'll sit down now and chill out... |
