Anna Nicole Smith's money grab!

http://www.cnn.com/2006/LAW/05/01/sc....ap/index.html

This could set a dangerous precedent!

Don't get me wrong I think that maybe she should be entitled to something, but half! I think not!

They'll just keep squabbling until the lawyers have got it all. After that, strangely enough, it will no long be of interest to anyone.

I'm glad the courts are spending so much time on this case. Really glad... It looks like they've finally got their priorities in line....

They'd have been better off cutting a deal on the side a long time ago. There was plenty of $ to go around.

I was the executor for a late friend's estate. I told the estate's lawyer to get it over with quickly. "Quickly" ended up being defined as 2 years and 5 different lawyers: the estate's lawyer, the residual beneficiary's lawyer, the lawyer for the business involved, and two different lawyers for the ex-wife (she never met a lawyer that would get along with her!) At the end of the whole thing the residual beneficiary's lawyer complained about the money being paid to the ex-wife's lawyers! I reminded him that I'd told them to sort it out two years previous and that they'd told me they had to do it "their way". They shut up and signed at that point.

They will spend $40,000 arguing over a $2,000 adjustment... but "hey", it's not THEIR money being spent.
