Artie Shaw -- R.I.P.
After posting earlier this week regarding the passing of music-legend Hank Garland, it is with great sadness, once again, to relate the passing of eminent "Swing-era" Big-Band leader and clarinetist, Artie Shaw. Many of us, including this poster, were captivated and influenced by his mastery and individualistic tone concepts of his wind instrument of choice.
Artie, we're gonna miss you, lad ... thanks for the music and the memories.

A strong influence in the Big Band era. Lived into his 90s. Left some music and an style that will be remembered for generations.
