I saw a program on the Travel Channel this weekend about "Bigfootville" – an area of Oklahoma that's experienced a lot of "sightings." I searched around on the web yesterday and found www.texasbigfoot.com – a site that even has database of encounters. These bigfoot researchers really take their hobby seriously! Most of the sighting reports go into amazing detail, but it's always interesting how there's some excuse for the involved parties never finding any hard evidence like a heaping, steaming, oozing pile of dung. Still, my day at work has been about 4 hours reading texasbigfoot.com and 3 hours of actual work. I also found a Minnesota bigfoot site with sighting reports from the north woods. I can tell that efficiency is going to be taking a serious dive this week . . .

One night, not too long ago, a work crew was returning from a new construction project out in the wilderness when they came upon a tree that was laying across the dirt road that led back to civilization. It was dusk and the cold air of the approaching night was filled with the sounds of birds and animals seeking shelter for the evening. As the men got out of the vehicle to remove the tree, a crunching sound of something huge in the forest silenced the sounds of the woods and all was eerily silent. Suddenly, from the treeline the outline of several large sub human forms began hurling rocks the size of bowling balls at the truck. One rock crushed the windshield while another impacted the roof and bounded off into the forest. The men piled in the truck and headed for what they thought would be the safety of the construction trailer. Racing down the rutted gravel and dirt road they could hear the pounding of large rocks behing them and could make out many of the gigantic creatures running behind them. When the arrived back at camp the men fled the truck and locked themselves in the trailer. For most of the night they could sense the creatures stalking them, waiting for an opportunity to attack. Throughout the night the men huddled in the trailer and listened as the creatures slowly approached and then, for some reason, backed away. The next morning the early shift arrived to find the trailer on it's side with the frightened men huddled in a metal storage container that saved their lives. Huge footprints and a foul odor in the air served as evidence of the stealthy attackers presence. Where will they strike next?

I have been to Georgia several times. With Fort Benning being around there, I wouldn't be too surprised to find out that it was some of those crazy Special Ops guys out there with gilly suits. Either that or it was the product of "my Dad, Cousin Fred and my sister, Mom." Keep a camera handy at all times to snap its picture. Gary
