the next day i got ahold of some tickets to see the 9th, for 10 bucks under list price and only 3 hours before the concert (I love craigslist) and man was i disappointed to find out that Levine wouldn't be conducting, that's proly why the guy was selling, it was a great show though,

There is always a reason for things like this and IMO when things like these happen, it makes the person better in some way and I don't mean physically better necessarily but rather a little more humble, a little more trusting in others to help you, a little more grateful that the 'accident' was not worse, a challenge to find something good out of something apparently bad thereby making one stronger in character then he/she was before, etc.

I've had my bumps, falls, broken bones, concussion, etc, and I thank G-d for every one of them … for turning my path at each turn in life to another and better direction in fact.

It is stated that the "BSO spokesman Sean Kerrigan said it was not immediately known whether Levine's schedule as music director of the Metropolitan Opera would be affected." Maybe his schedule might be affected but Levine will be a better person for it.

The best in health and life to you James.

Hi Liad,

Can I share something with you about Levine, in strictest confidence?

If I tell you what I know, you must agree to never share it on the trumpet forums. Seriously . . .

Warmest regards,

Tom

No, please don't tell me. I don't think that I want to hear it for I get the feeling that it isn't good. If it is good, then yes, by all means.

Thanks,

Well . . . here it is . . .

Do you know what the difference is between a bull . . . and an orchestra?

That's easy, Tom --

In an orchestra, the horns are in the back...
