The contest is over?

So early in the morning as well.

So would there be the possibility of another contest any time in the near (or not-so-near) future?

Re: The contest is over?

They do a contest every year, from what I can tell. This year was NYTC, the past 2 years it has been an Eclipse Horn. I can't remember what the prize was in 2004.

I actually found out about TM because a friend on trumpet herald had IM'd me about entering the contest for an Eclipse (2003 I believe.)

Well here's hoping that NYTC will take a second year as well.

Re: The contest is over?

Haha, I doubt that will happen, for the same reason I doubt a C trumpet would be a prize. Not everyone uses a C or a Flugelhorn. Everyone the I have ever met who plays trumpet has a Bb and will use a Bb. The object of the contest, for the producer, is to help publicize their products. The NY 7 is the newest horn on the line, and also by being a Bb, draws interest from the largest demographic of members, leading to higher publicity. It all makes sense.

On the other hand, if they have a new line of flugels they are trying to spread the word about, it is a possibility. Or maybe they will make a Piccolo trumpet next as they dont have any on their line currently. I'd be willing to look into an NYTC Picc.

Well the Magnum is a Bb trumpet and its the new newest horn, so would't that fit your logic better?

On another note, you decided to buy an NYTC trumpet of your own, huh? I wish I had the money to do that.

Hey, I am no business major. And besides, the Magnum is $2000 more. You have to find a balance between profit loss and potential profit gain.
