A cool site to get what you want

Hey Guys

I recently discovered a great site on line. Its a site that allows you to share software, mp3s, full movie downloads and everything in between. You can download the software to install this very cool program at the site listed below. Its FREE and blows Kazza away!

Some of you may know it but for those of you who dont its called

www.imesh.com

Enjoy and spread the word!

Of course the software is legal, however if you are sharing copyrighted files, that is where it becomes illegal.

It is legal if it is for your own use only. Just like if you record a tv show. If you start to sell copies of what you download then thats illegal.

Yes, you can copy your own cds and use them for yourself, but you cannot share them with others for profit or not. This is exactly what the RIAA is suing everyone for. Pretty much, you're safe as long as you are not uploading a lot.

If you found $20 on the sidewalk, would you turn it in to the police and try and claim it after a 30 day waiting period? Of course you wouldnt. The question is not whether it is legal or not, but whether people are gonna turn down DVD quality movies for free. Most won't.

Most without ethics won't. Being a musician, would you steal a CD? What if it was one that your friend made? What if it was your CD that had been downloaded for free (STOLEN)?

Recording artists rely on record sales to earn their paychecks and feed their families. It's their job. They get up, they go to work in a recording studio, instead of a school or a bank or the GM plant. It's their business. Software developers rely upon sales, movie companies ticket and rental/pruchases, etc. Participating in p2p networks like Kazaa and this one is unethical; it is intellectual theft. Why buy the album when you can just download it for free? Why purchase Office XP or Finale 2006 when you can download it free? How about Lord of the Rings? Complete cycle anyone? No cost to you; but tremendous loss to the individuals who worked hours, weeks, months, years putting it together. It's a bit more involved than the $20 on the sidewalk comparison. In some cases it involves more money. Way more (especially in the case of some software titles). In all cases it's a different moral/ethical principle.

You want the recording? The movie? The software? The book? That beautiful photo of the Dallas skyline? Go buy it and help support those people so they can continue doing what they do. Just because they love it does not mean they should just do it for free. As a musician yourself...would you expect to be paid for your services?

I don't think this argument is going to work in court, which is where YOU might end up if you continue to use it. Unlike that $20 bill, they will be able to track the people who "found" the freebies and put them to use.

Do yourself a favor and play by the rules.
