The thought occurred to me that Afghanistan has become almost the "forgotten war". I know that this borders dangerously on the R&P issues which we've foresworn but I'd like to offer up this link. It is a Canadian reporter's blog written about a month spent in Afghanistan. It is essentially without politics but rather reads like a fairly objective view of the situation there. Don't mistake it for Iraq though; it's not.

It is fairly lengthy and might take a few days to chew through; start at the bottom and work "up" because it's in reverse chronological order; (was originally meant to be read daily rather than "all at once"). Naturally it is the viewpoint of a Canadian reporter rather than American or British.
