Re: Eclipse Nice pic Walter I was giving a concert last night and as we were packing afterwards it was just starting - we had to wait until the curry house to see the full result

Re: Eclipse Thanks guys...I didn't fully appreciate how beautiful the eclipse was until I looked at the enlarged view...I always see the moon as flat even though I know it is not but the eclipse makes it look like a 3 dimensional planet. I took it from my garden on a Canon 20D camera with tripod and a 200mm lens. I used the 20D because it gives 1.6x to the 200mm making it effectively a 320mm lens. The aperature was f4 and the exposure was 1/3 second using 100 ISO. I tried different combinations of exposure but was surprised how quickly the moon moves....the longer exposures caused blur. I then cropped the picture in Photoshop to make the moon a little larger.... I must admit that I am glad I made the effort. Walter

Re: Eclipse Wonderful Roger! One could assume by your post that photography is a hobby of yours eh? Well done! The lunar eclipse was not visable to us in the US unless we happend to be right on the East coast. I beleive the next one is in September hopefully that one will be more visable to the places this one was not.

Re: Eclipse Nice photo. I did see it in Alabama, but it was in totality just as the moon was rising, right after sunset.
