![]() ![]() | Etiquette Please note that in all ARTIST FORUMS, It is considered good etiquette to... LET THE ARTIST ANSWER THE QUESTION ASKED OF HIM/HER FIRST. Thats why they are here! -cw-

![]() | Re: Etiquette I agree with you CW, but I also think it is unintentional sometimes. With the new layout, I will read new posts and respond to a general type trumpet post without realizing what forum it is in until afterwards. The golden rule is as you say though and as it should be. | Fortissimo User | Re: Etiquette I'll agree with Alex... it DOES require the knowledge to check the "drill down" on the Thread title to know which forum you might be in at the moment. Perhaps the site admin will come up with something that keeps the "noise" down to a dull roar until the question can be answered by "respondant" to the original question. |

![]() | Re: Etiquette To tell the truth, when protocols are established but get ignored or overlooked, it makes it a little easier when the members police themselves rather than having the mods rag on people. We like to write about whatever we like to write about but having to police a forum over a common sense issue becomes awkward. I mean, let me be candid... the very same thing Alex described has happened to me. I read a post and wrote a reply that amounted to "Why are you writing to me about this?" and then realized I wasn't in the Manny 911 forum! Doh! Then, other times someone will write a post, I'll want to write but can't because I don't have the time and forget about it because there's no feature to "Keep this post new". Eventually someone will chime in and I'll say "Oh, yeah... I forgot to write back...". Then, I write back. Other times people will eagerly chime in because there isn't a gigantic sign that repeats what I have posted in the past and what's been asked before: please let me answer first. A lot of folks don't read the "Please read this before you post" section of my forum either. So, what to do? Well... We accept that people are well-meaning, for the most part, and chalk it up to an oversight. We allow ourselves to be reminded about things without taking offense. We use common sense when posting. We maintain a sense of humor. ML |
