Re: Finally, my studio!

Take a lot of photos. You have a sure place in "This Old House Magazine." A musician with a converted barn is a subject they will love to have.

My trees finally leaved out today, May 6. The killing frost we had wiped out all the buds south into the Ozarks. I was south of here (Mountain Grove) last weekend and not a leaf on a hardwood tree. Lots of dead armadillos, however.

Alex, How high is your barn? I am guessing 16 feet. It looks like two typical floors. The garage I have planned for my back yard is 16X24 and limited to 16 feet by city code. Your barn shows me good perspective on what I can expect.
Thank You,
Jim

Alex Yates has a little shameless behaviour in the past
Re: Finally, my studio!

Yes, it is 16 ft high. The other half is split into two floors with a shop on the bottom and stairs leading to a loft type room (which is being used as an attic/storage space right now). I will take pictures all around the outside after it has been painted. It has big doors on the north side leading to the shop which gives it that "barn" flavor. The accents and trim will be done in white.

Re: Finally, my studio!

Wow... congrats Alex. Does this mean the cost for lessons is going up??

What a great room. I bet your sound will ring like crazy with those high ceilings. Kitties should enjoy all the sunshine coming in.

Be sure to keep posting pictures. Of the outside too so we can see how you built-on to the "cabin".

Again, congrats.... we luv ya but ya know we are all so jealous...

How about a 16 foot Vulgano Avatar on the side? That would really add some class!

"Real Tree" (TM) camoflage. It will blend right in.

"Real Tree" is trade marked. Not trumpet mastered. I don't want to anger the lawers.

Re: Finally, my studio!

How did I miss this thread?

Manny; yes I'm done with the bunny suit!

Alex I'd love to check out your new space the next time I swing through your way; I'm so happy for you!

A 16 foot Vulgano Avatar now that's got to be something to see!

She really has a beautiful space down there in which to play I'm honored to have played in it with her!

You go girl!
