Finally, my studio! The works of my studio have finally begun and I wanted to share a photo journal with all of you. It should be completed within the next month. I am so excited. ![]() This is the shop behind my home. It is approx 800 sq. ft. I am taking the back half (the room is 16X25 [400 sq ft] with very high cathedral ceilings) and turning it into a long awaited studio. The outside is going to be painted when the inside gets painted in a couple of weeks. (and I have not decided on a color yet.....toying with barn red since it looks like a barn LOL and the new window frames are white). ![]() The entrance to the room is in the corner where the east and south wall meet. This is a picture of the west wall taken from that angle. It gives a good idea of the ceiling height (which, at approx 16 ft, ROCKS!). Outside of the sliding doors will be a nice small patio and garden. The property continues on for about another 1/3 acre behind the building, so I will still have privacy. ![]() View from the northeast corner to the southwest corner. ![]() Another height perspective. Next week begins sheet rock, ceiling, indoor and outdoor painting. After that, carpet. I keep rubbing my eyes because I never thought it would happen. I am excited and just wanted to share it with everyone. Last edited by Alex Yates : 05-05-2007 at 07:37 PM. Reason: measurement correction

Re: Finally, my studio! Okay, Alex... I hate you. No, seriously.... I would LOVE to have something as cool as that to practice in every day!!! Good for you! You have worked hard and if anyone deserves a great place to make music it's you... brava! Hey, great place for a TM/Atlanta party hang. I'll even bring the bunny suit (if John's done with it). ML

Re: Finally, my studio! Oh, thanks everyone! I am so happy about it. It has been a long time in the "someday" department. I am just giddy that it is now becoming a reality. Hot tub Mikey? ..... I agree! Hey Tom Mac, it will be a teaching/recording/rehearsing space. It will be much more sound proof than my home. As you can see, there is plenty of insulation. I will update this thread as new stages are complete. Yeah, it is pretty exciting. Woooo hoooo! My biggest concern at the moment is making sure my beautiful jasmine vine doesn't get killed in the process. I am going to remove it as cafefully as possible and then weave it through the trellis when the painting is done. Hopefully it will resume its climb. It is in full bloom right now and smells divine.
