Flakes in hair?

I use Alberto European hair spray. But it leaves this flaky stuff in my hair, but on the can, it says "won't leave flakes." I sometimes scratch my head because its itchy, maybe its because of that that leaves flakes in my hair? Or is it the hairspray? Any tips on how to stop this flakyness?

Re: Flakes in hair?

Stop using Alberto European Hair Spray. Problem solved if the hair spray is the cause.

Re: Flakes in hair?

My Dad, among other things, was a trichologist - someone who studies hair and related matters. As I recall, his take on flakes on the head centered around our failure to effectively wash out the soap/shampoo. The only stuff that can cause flakes in lacquer is the beatle based shellac and the caustic soda used in the manufacturing process - the rest is water, alcohol, and perfume concentrate essence.

roflmao!!!!

this is prolly the last thing i'd expect to see on tm, even in the lounge.

unfortunately, i can comiserate...

*sighs in resignation*

switch to gel. my scalp would itch whenever i used hairspray in highschool. ran out of it one day, used some of my mom's gel and bada bing, i used it for the next several years until i was forced to grow up and entered "Corporate America". nice thing about gel is that it holds better, you can do more with it, and it gives your hair a nice sheen.

god, i can't believe i just said all that...

hello, my name is ed. i'm an italian from south jersey... and i was a greaser.
