| Re: Frustrated. Misty, about 1/2 of the movement of the valve produces a sub optimal sound due to the way the ports are made. When we move the valve quickly, we change faster from one good sounding note to the next. The only way to move the valve quickly is to bang it down. |

| Re: Frustrated. Aha, I see. I didn't have that problem with the rotary valves on the French horn. Is that why people seem to like rotary trumpets so much? |
