Getting Rid of Instruments/Selling

Greetings All,

I want to get your thoughts on something. I have a bunch of old instruments at home and am looking for the best way to get rid of them. Problem is, I can't spend too much time in the process. Items I have include a Czech 4-valve tuba, a tenor sax, alto sax, clarinet, flute, trombone, Titano accordion, and German zither (these were all my Dad's).

My question is, what's the best way to offload these things? I'm thinking that somewhere in Minnesota should be an auctioneer that would be willing to list stuff on eBay. Or is there a better way?

Cheers,

Andy

Why not just list it yourself?
There are plenty of auction sites and there's always craigslist.

Put them on Craigs list. You should list them in large cities. Be sure to list it in St. Louis so I can see the tuba. There are always people looking for tubas.

There is a Tuba organization you should look up and list it on their web site.

Yes Andy, I'm rather interested in the Trom and the Tuba too, but congratulations on divesting yourself of the other stuff - even if it was your Dad's. Ebay has worked well for me.

Re: Getting Rid of Instruments/Selling

If your going cheap, consider trying to sell to a school. Schools are almost always looking for instruments to put kids on. At my school, a person can loan an instrument to the director, and any students interested in buying can try it out, or buy it at the school. The director will just send the money to the original owner.. sort of like a middleman.

Good suggestions above, particularly craigslist, etc.

If you are selling, I might be interested in the woodwinds, send me a PM!
