| Mezzo Piano User | Going away. So, yesterday and today I've been packing up all my stuff getting ready to move up north for college. It's just a really strange feeling, I've lived in the same house, in my same bedroom for all 18 years of my life, and now I'm clearing it all out and movie away. Really weird. I have alot of mixed emotions about it. I'm so excited to get up there and start this new chapter in my life, but I'm also a bit nervous about it. I'm really looking forward to meeting a bunch of new people and makeing new friends, but there is nothing worse than knowing I'm leaving behind some of the best friends I have ever had. I just can't belive how fast time has flown by. It seems like not to long ago I was in elementry school, didn't have any responsibilities, just follow the kid in front of you in line. Then you wake up the next morning and you're in Jr. High already, you think your a big shot with lockers and a big lunch menu. But then you blink and your in highschool. Now suddenly I'm moving on to college, I just started highschool and it's over already!

![]() | Don't leave your friends "behind". Make a real effort to remain in touch. Email makes it easy. Exchange photos. And see them in person too. Never outgrow those who loved you as a youth! They are one's best and often only refuge when seas get rough. Good luck! T/ |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Your newest best friends will be the ones you meet just outside your practice room. Have fun, and make your profs earn their pay by picking their brains.

| Mezzo Piano User | David, Take this chance and embrace it as long as possible. I left home 14 years ago and will be returning there in the next few months to start a new chapter in my life. The experiences you will have will help you to grow as a person. Each time you return home you will comment on how much "home" has changed but it probably will not have changed. The change will be within you and what you have learned while away. Take it all in stride.
