Dear TM members,

Manny Laureano has decided to move on from TrumpetMaster.com . We would like to take a moment to thank Manny for moderating his excellent Manny911 forum over the past few years and providing trumpet players with an incredible wealth of information.

Re: Goodbye and Thank you Manny Laureano

Manny,

I'll miss you on two counts. Firstly, your advice on making music with this piece of metal is now a part of the way I think about it. Thanks for that..I'm a better player for it. Secondly, your view on life issues was always well thought out, researched and intelligently articulated and often delivered with more than a little humour. I'm better informed because of them.

Keep us in touch with what you're doing. Don't become a stranger.

Regards,

Trevor

Manny,

It has been a pleasure reading through your posts during the past several months that I've been a member of this site. It's such a plus to have easy access to the wisdom found here.

I look forward to hearing you and the rest of the orchestra on Mahler 2 this weekend!

Andy

Manny:

Thank you for your many contributions. Thanks for not taking political disagreements personally-And many thanks for the gracious thoughts about life in general- and especially my wife, Ruth , thanks you for taking time from your busy life to think of her.
(She is going through chemo now and still not displaying severe symptoms, so we're hoping for the best. )

I hope you will be able to return, if time permits.

Re: Goodbye and Thank you Manny Laureano

A sad day for me. Manny was a father figure with his well thought out answers. Over 5000 posts documented his dedication to the cause here.
Manny had even recently become a TM Supporter.
The personal attacks from one bozo was enough to start a migration. A reminder to all of us about how fragile peace and democracy really are as well as a reminder that freedom of speech is not "free".
I would also like to say goodby to the other "friends" that have recently left.
For the record, I consider this to be "standard operating procedure" in an internet community. The dangers are there, are NOT preventable and will not appeal to everybody. Everyone makes their own decision about when what is excessive and deserves the right to make decisions about belonging without criticism or remorse. Manny's or anyone elses leaving, does not shed a bad light on them or what we have here, it just opens our eyes to the world that is in our backyard.
For parents not monitoring their childrens internet habits, this would be a great time to start. Get in the habit of SHARING your experiences, good and bad.

Re: Goodbye and Thank you Manny Laureano

Hey Manny, Sorry to see you go. Many trumpet forums are uptight and stuffy and you loosened things up around here for the good as far as I'm concerned. Best wishes.
