| Fortissimo User | Greensburg I know that there are so many people who are members here that everyone knows someone who has experienced (or have experienced themselves) tragedy and heartbreak of one kind or another. John and RGale and Virginia Tech are the latest. I just saw the newsclips of the devastation in Greensburg Kansas. I can't imagine going to bed "safe and sound" and waking up to the destruction of an entire town. "Severe weather" is something that seems to be happening all too frequently in recent years and I've started to become rather blase about these 'natural' events but this one somehow hit me 'under the belt'. Maybe it was the clip of the man who had just been married and moved into a new house with his bride only a week before; maybe it was the fact that most of that town simply doesn't know what to do or where to turn next. Let's have a moment for those people who have been lost, for their families, and for all of those who have lost their homes. And don't forget to help out the Salvation Army and Red Cross in their efforts to do what we can't. Last edited by Tootsall : 05-05-2007 at 10:18 PM. |
