![]() | Well, today turned out to be an actual good day today. I went through school with no problems, (which doesn't happen very often) No one picked on me, nothing. I met a smoking hot girl today in class! After talking with her, found out that we have much in common! Even though she doesn't play the trumpet... I could always teach her What a Day!!!!!

![]() ![]() | Re: It has been a good day... I'm very happy that you had a good day. I'm sorry to hear that not all of your days are good ones. Of course, nobody has every day as a good one but that's part of the challenge of life. I know that when you are in high school, there are a lot of things that are on your mind and it is hard to tell which ones will later be big deals and which ones won't. But I can offer some suggestions for you. First, I have been out of school for a long time so now I can look back and see which things were big deals and they weren't the things that I thought at the time. I can't remember which basketball or football games we won but I can remember having fun at the parties and pep rallies. I can't remember what grades I got in every class but I can remember the important things that I learned and the great teachers that I had. I can't remember every situation where a person was rude to me or picked on me but I can remember those where I was rude to someone else of picked on them (and there were plenty of both). But, either way, after many years, those hurts are gone and I am good friends with every person that I went to school with (at least those that I still know and have contact with). I still remember every high school musical production where I played trumpet in the orchestra and I can still sing most of the songs (much to the dismay of my children and grandchildren). I remember the band competitions and how much fun they were although I can't remember whether we won or not. I was not the most popular kid in school and I was voted the 'most likely to remain a nerd' (which I have done) but now I see that as a source of value in my life rather than a rejection. I grew up on a farm and was the first in my family to graduate from college. I worked my way through and paid my own way. I learned a lot and I have had a great career because of what I learned there and still have a lot of friends that I met, including my wife. My children have all graduated from high school and college and they have much the same reaction to their experiences that I have. I suspect that it will be the same for you. So, build on what you have. You have the trumpet. That can be a life-long source of enjoyment. Reach out to others (such as the hot girl that maybe will learn the trumpet but even if she doesn't, that shouldn't bother you) because the greatest happiness comes when we do things for others. As far as the hot wheels go, I assume that the most likely place to sell them is on ebay unless there is a collectors club somewhere. So, the best research is to look at existing and past sales on ebay and see what the prices were for similar cars. As far as the truck is concerned, it may or may not be worth $450 alone. Sometimes things are not worth as much without the complete set. It really depends on what someone is looking for. But, again, ebay will be the place to find out. But, in any case, saving for a professional trumpet is a worthwhile activity so keep at it. Again. I'm glad it was a good day. Keep looking for those things that made it good and you can have many more.

![]() | Re: It has been a good day... I truly appreciate the comment. It really has inspired me to do better at a whole new level! I already try to do nice things for people. I try to be nice. I never really get anything in return, but they say, what you do for them, you get better in return, or something like that. I contacted some guy on the Internet about the truck.... What you said is right. It is better in a complete set. What I have is actually, If I'm lucky, worth $50. So that was a big bummer for me. I'm desperately trying to save to get a really nice pro horn for senior year, but so far that's not looking like its going to happen any time soon. Oh well. Thank you again for your comment. It really touched me in a positive way. I hope YOU have a great day. And the rest you reading this thread, have a great day!
