Help with MIDI Keyboard

When I first got Finale 2005 for writing music it took me about a week to figure out how I got my MIDI Keyboard to work correctly with Finale. I just got a new computer and started setting everything up, but now I forgot what I had done before and can't figure out how to get the darn thing to work.

If anyone knows how to do this could you please help me out? All I'm trying to do is set it so that when I play a note on my keyboard it shows up on the staff on the screen, and when I play back, instead of comming from my computers speakers it should come out the speakers on my keyboard....

Ah! It's so annoying knowing that I've done it before but can't remember how... If I remember right it was something really simple too...

Thanks,
David

Finale should set this up automatically for you. In any event, when you are using Speedy Note Entry, you need to be sure that you have told the computer to accept input from a midi device. You do this by checking the option under the Speedy Note Entry from the drop down.

As far as play back, you need to set that up, I believe, through midi. The help files with Finale are very good and should be able to explain in detail how to do this. MakeMusic.com should also have some explainations.
