![]() | Re: How to surprise Jo Ann Faletta Wow! He's better than some orchestra conductors! The first advice from my principal when I joined the orchestra: "Just watch the concertmaster's bow." |

Re: How to surprise Jo Ann Faletta And now for a completely different take: Forum: trumpetherald.com (cue: Debbie Downer wah wah trombone) Oh, well... celebrate diversity, I suppose. I didn't know a species could survive with that level of acid in the blood. ML

Re: How to surprise Jo Ann Faletta "We didn't expect him to know the score so well" !!!! WHAT??? He waved his arm a few times and "he knew the score".... Maybe she meant to say, "he knew the tune".... I was really hoping for one of his classic lines like, "I love Beethoven. I was glad I got a chance to conduct him..." No political statement intended folks... I think all politicians are idiots! This one just likes to wear a t-shirt that tells us so...

Re: How to surprise Jo Ann Faletta No, I think what she's referring to is, if you watch carefully, he cues the right sections at the right times. That's what I thought was cool about it more than if he just got up and went "one-two, one-two..." So, yeah, I think he "knew the score" a bit better than most non-musicians. ML

Re: How to surprise Jo Ann Faletta Fascinating. The thread I linked to no longer exists. I imagine that's the case because of the venemous comments of one of the posters. Oh, well. I hope it continues to be enjoyed here as the bit of fun it was intended. I've always been taught that it takes fewer muscles to smile than to frown. But, as I think about it, I've known a host of trumpeters that work a lot harder than I do, also.
