Hurricane Katrina Update (508 days)

I just posted a group of pictures I took when in Mississippi and East Louisiana. For those who wonder how the clean up and repair are going, these shots bring a dose of reality to the situation. I live 100 miles from where some of these pictures were taken and I had no idea things were still this bad.

The good news is that there has been a massive amount of repair. But as we drove through these two areas we agreed that it would take 10-15 years to return them to some semblance of normal life, as they knew it prior to Katrina.

I have not been to West Louisiana and East Texas in a few months. In many cases I understand it is just as bad there. It just makes me so very thanksful for the fact that my community was not hit super hard by both storms. It really makes you thnk and about what if either storm had wobbled 50 miles in the direction of my house?
