I feel old...

One of my students today asked: "Did you used to teach in Star Lake?" I said yes. (I've been here for 5 years now). "Do you remember my mother? You were her band teacher!" was his next question....he's in 5th grade. Yes, I kind of do remember his mother. Vaguely. This is the first time that's happened...

Glenn, at first I was just going to laugh at you, but then realized that I am in a similar situation. I was shocked when I came to the realization that people born in 1990 are now legally driving automobiles now.

That's scary.

Glenn,

First time for everything eh?

I imagine that was different. I haven't had that happen quite in that context.

I did have one of my niece's friends say to me, "hey didn't you go to school with my mom?"

Egads.... I can sympathize!

Kinda like the first time I heard Def Leppard referred to as "Classic Rock" I thought man I cut my teeth on that stuff... Holy cow!

Because you ARE older Ed, you are too Glenn.

You know this thread reminds me of a funny story.....

about 6 years ago while I was still able to play hockey and was back home in motown me and my teamates went out for a few beers after a very hard faught game.

We happend to go into this bar on College night; mostly 18 year olds or about that age range.

I started laughing so hard I thought I was going to die. My cousin looked at me and said, "John what's so funny?"

I looked at him and said, "You know how you guys are always running around saying to girls who's your daddy?" He replied Yes.

I said, "Well, were so old now these girls will be looking at us going are you my daddy?" Mind you at the time I was 30 and he was 32 our teamates were all around that general age range.....

Ah yes; we're old in deed!

My Mum knew it was time to retire from teaching (classroom, not instrumental) when she was teaching the grandchildren of one of her previous pupils!

And it doesn't get any better. I remember way back when I started teaching privately some of my high school students looked pretty hot. The girls, that is. Then at a certain point I remember the moms started looking hotter than the daughters. When the grandmothers start looking hot to me, I'll know it's time to retire!
