Last Spring, if you'd asked me how I was doing at age 57, I'd have told you that I hadn't noticed much change in the last 10-15 years. I hadn't noticed the changes, but they were there.
Then a blood test showed that I had low testosterone. That's no suprise. Testosterone levels drop as you get older. It didn't seem to make any difference to me, but my doctor prescribed AndroGel. It'a a synthetic testosterone gel that's applied to the upper arms and torso every morning. The main effect, I was told, would be an increase in red blood cells resulting in more energy.
It worked. My energy levels are unbelievable now. No more after-dinner naps. No more sleepyness driving home after a long day at work. No more morning backaches. No more joint stiffness. I sleep better.
My insurance pays for most of the cost. I pay about $1 a day. But even if I had to pay it all, I'd never go back!
No kidding, folks. If you'r over 50, get a blood test and check this stuff out. It's wonderful.

Good advice John.

One should for sure get a blood test. If any hormonal deficiencies exist, it should always be corrected.

My wife says there's nothing wrong with my testosterone (except, maybe, that it's too high). 57 coming up in about three months.

Agree, however. Get 'em checked. It won't kill you and might cure you.

... and the ones who advertise by using it are the biggest liars. Basically, it shows what they lack.

On the other hand, what I have seen through the years of sexually over active men, however, is an oversized prostate gland which will interfere with the bladder function, (hearing them grunting while standing at the urinal for a long time and only getting drops or small spurts at a time) the prostate becoming weakened and dysfunctional at an earlier age not to mention a harbor for carcinogenic agents.

Moderation will help prevent over use and abuse.

Your testosterone level is directly related to how much lead you have in your pencil, so to speak. Body builders use viagra because from what I've heard, it either IS synthetic testosterone, or it boosts your testosterone levels temporarily and as a body builder, you can build more muscle when your testosterone levels are higher.

So, that being said, I think that he was saying that because your wife says that she thinks your testosterone levels are too high, that you have absolutely no problems with your libido and that you are chasing her all over the house all the time.

Some interesting notes:

The high point in age of sexual activity is in the 30's and in the mid 30's is the highest point of male heart attacks.

Many men around the age of 50 loose it altogether and think that their wife is old as the reason, get a divorce or buy a motorcycle, sports car or something that they wanted/had when they were teenagers or start taking drugs, etc.

Believe it or not there are young men here (age around 19) who are getting married without having had any experience with premarital sex. They are being advised to go to the drug store to buy a spray so that they will not have a problem getting it up and keeping it up on their wedding night.
