Inspiring beyond words May G-d bless and keep this wonderful woman! http://news.bostonherald.com/interna...ticleid=188449 There are good people in this world. That's why good will always prevail over evil. Not overnight but eventually. ML

Re: Inspiring beyond words I had just finished studying the Holocaust in my history class this week. And while I've learned about it in years past, I never really completely understood the kinds of atrocities that were committed. I also never understood how the people committing those atrocities could feel justified in what they were doing. So it really makes me happy to know that there were people like this, who were completely selfless and made it their lifes goal to save the lives of others, and to keep them away from the terrible things that were happening. I hope people everywhere can take a lesson from this woman. ~Preston

Re: Inspiring beyond words Wow.. just goes to show how selfless humans can be when faced with such situations. I visited the Auschwitz concentration camp in Poland a few years ago.. so horrifying. I pray that we can learn from our past and never let something like that happen again.

Re: Inspiring beyond words If you want to read about two more incredibly brave women (since we happen to be on that subject) pick up "Because They Hate" by Brigitte Gabriel and "Infidel" by Ayan Hirsi Ali. These are life-changing books that I wish were required reading in today's schools BEFORE young people go to college. I'm in the middle of "Infidel" and it's quite shocking. ML

Re: Inspiring beyond words Ms. Sendler is an angel amongst us. They exist and she is a perfect example. Ayan Hirsi Ali is one heck of a woman with quite a story to tell. She has been on my radar since I lived overseas. When Theo van Gogh was killed, the letter pinned to his body with a knife was threatening her life since she dared to stand up for the rights of Muslim women. Here is a link to the movie she wrote that was directed by van Gogh if anyone is interested. SUBMISSION (YES, he was killed over a ten minute movie written by a Muslim woman. It still freaks me out.) Aung San Suu Kyi is another woman worth reading about. She has been detained for a total of ten years over the past three decades for daring to stand up to a military dictatorship. Yes, the angels among us exist. Last edited by Alex Yates : 03-15-2007 at 11:22 AM. Reason: adding movie link
