Jazz musicians and politics

now I know that politics are forbidden topic around here as well as religion, but actually I am interested in factual data.

For example Im interested in Jazz musicians political wievs. I would like to know wether Miles, Dizzy, Chet were left wingers or right wingers, whom did they vote for, were they actively involved in politics etc

I repeat I do not want discussion or your own political views or opinions I want pure historical facts

For example John Smith was right winger, he even run for the mayor in his hometown. Facts like that.

OK?
