Just got my brace's took off

You'll be better off for having had them. Just make sure to wear your retainer when you get it, otherwise all of that time and money will be down the drain. I had them during high school and am so glad now that I did.

Long tones, slurs, endurance is what you'll need to work on..

Yeah Scream, don't sweat it. Don't try to manipulate anything. Just sing through your trumpet and let your chops take care of themselves. They will adjust in no time all on their own.

Screamer,

SchilkeB6 and everyone else are right, give it time. If you try to make your lips do things they don't want to you may damage your new set-up. Keep remembering your best sound and your lips will go to where they ned to produce that sound if you let them. Don't get in the way. Step aside and keep remembering the sound.

You'll get through it...hang in there. I've seen lots of recoveries to better than before braces after the removal. Everything so far is right on the mark. Be patient, listen to your sound and listen to your body.

Scream Machine,

Don't fret. I got my braces off (after 3 years of the buggers!) in December of 2004. (Wow, it's been that long?!)

It takes a while to get used to it. My playing took about a month to really feel comfortable, and another 2 or 3 to start noticing a change in my tone and articulation.

Just remember to keep it easy and smart. Long tones, scales, and technical stuff will really help you get those muscles used to the new set up!

Take care, and remember to wear your retainers! The year and a half (almost) that I've had them off, I've only forgotten to wear them once.
