| Forte User | Dang. I got kids who can play circles around that hack! Ok. Seriously, now, wow. What a groove monster! I saw part of that clip at an all-county festival not too long ago. I also just shared it with the rest of my faculty. Some of them seem to think kids can't do anything right, it seems. Thanks, Chuck. My son (he's 10) was also pretty blown away ("My hands would get tired" he says...). I might play it for my drummers, too. |

| Forte User | That "kid" is in his early 20s and IS writing his own ticket as a drummer. http://www.tonyroysterjr.com/ He certainly was a phenom at the time of that video though. I've seen the clip before - it gets posted about once every 4-6 months on the Pearl Drummer's forum. Suffice it to say that I have a ways to go before I'll be at that level - IF I ever get to that level. If you really want to see something cool, check out this video of Dennis Chambers laying down his own flavoring on a halftime shuffle: http://www.drummerworld.com/Videos/d...berspearl.html (It get's really good about halfway through) or even better: http://www.drummerworld.com/Videos/d...ersstudio.html Of course I would be remiss not to include some Dave Weckl - this must have been a counting nightmare for the guys playing the session: http://www.drummerworld.com/Videos/D...klnatural.html Dave can play just a little. Oh, I almost forgot - what would this post be without including a clip of the ever infamous (that means MORE than famous) John Henry Bonham? http://www.drummerworld.com/Videos/JohnBonham1.html |
