Karate/Junior Olympics

TMers,

I'm proud to announce that Danny Carroll (16) received silver medals in kata and kumite at the 2007 AAU Junior Olympic Games, held this past weekend (July 28/28) in Knoxville.

His mother and I remain comfortably sedated, thank you.

Best,
EC

Re: Karate/Junior Olympics

I'm sure it was due to his excellent cornet instruction!

WOO-hoo... you should be very proud of the lil' ones. Thank goodness they take after their mom! ;) ouchie.

Dave Mickley is on a distinguished road
Re: Karate/Junior Olympics

That is great - I took up Karate/Judo close to 40 yrs. ago and found that it takes a great deal of discipline and the right attitude, needless to say I possossed neither. You have a right to be proud father. Good luck if he decides to take this farther. Dave

With those credentials, even playing the clarinet would be an option!
Congrats from Germany!

Re: Karate/Junior Olympics

A quick followup. . . Danny was just asked to join Team USA for the World Games and other international tournaments. We're stunned and delighted.

The guy you see on the streets of Hanover, Los Angeles, and Montreal with the pocket trumpet and open case will be me figuring out how to pay for this!

Cheers,
EC
