| Mezzo Piano User | Laser Surgery This isn't really "trumpet" related but I was just wondering how many of you out there have had laser eye surgery. I have been thinking about it more and more these days. I hear there is only about a 24hr healing time. What kind of procedure did you have? I hear there's a kind with no cutting involved? has it helped you in reading etc? Eric

![]() | Re: Laser Surgery One of my brothers had it, and the surgery was botched. Since it wasn't covered by insurance because it was elective surgery, all the follow up surgeries to try to help came out of his pocket. None really helped. He is permanently legally blind in one eye after spending over $100,000. Buyer beware. If you can see OK now, I'd say leave it alone. Michael McLaughlin

![]() | Re: Laser Surgery My mom had it, one eye one week and the other eye then next, and for each it was about 24 hours of wearing glasses, then it was 20/20. No complications, no complaints, totally worth it according to her. I guess just make sure the doc you get it from is real experienced. I would imagine it would help reading music. My roommate is about to get it because of his astigmatism, which I also have, and I do think it limits the ability to read ahead. That's my two cents... |
