![]() | Miserable days ahead Recently I have been in pesimistic mood and did a lot of thinking about our future as a whole. IMO I strongly feel that the end is near, that our civilization has reached its peak some 25 years ago and has been going down since. Nothing good is about to happen in the forseable future, there are no signs no indicators of any kind that better days are ahead, on contrary. And that situation is present in every sphere of our lives. I wont mention politics, economy and stuf like that because it is obvious that nothing good will came up. But lets see the car industry. Its all plastic. Today's cars only differ from eachother by their corporate sign on the hood, everything else is more less unificated. Thats what bugs me, that unification of the world. Todays France does not differ much from Germany. Wherever you go its all the same. Same shops, same food, same money, same cars, same laws etc, etc. Individuality is lost. Lets see music. Recently someone posted youtube link where Paul Mcartney and his band perform Penny Lane. What used to be played on piccolo trmpt is today played on synthersizer. Lets see food, its all GMO. All the tomatoes looks the same shame shape, same size, same colour. THAT IS NOT NORMAL. Imagine if all people would look the same. Not normal. Same with tomatoes. In the end actually we will all look the same, just look at the fashion never before fashion was so un-inovative they basically repeat over what happened before. Look at ray-ban new line of pastel coloured sunglasses, we have had those already in mid70s, didnt we? I have nothing against mid 70 stuff (although I prefer 50s) but what I am trying to say WE HAVE RUN OUT OF IDEAS. Its over, the can is empty. No good, nothing good will happen. ![]() | Re: Miserable days ahead Seems like Chet needs to put his local suicide hot line number on his speed dial. All the cars in the forties looked alike, and they were all black. "The end of the World" sells fear, and it is a big money making industry. Y2K made big money and came to pass with no detriment. Now it's time to cash in on the Mayan Calendar, whats next? And where are the Myans now anyway? They vanquished, then vanished long before their calendar's time...seems like they made a mistake!!! There is no center of the universe. So, don't give away all your possessions, and hop on the comet in 2012, don't drink the kool-aid.... If it makes ya feel better, buy a generator, and a gas can, that's what this is all about, getting you to spend your money. P.S. the tomatoes think we all look alike, too. ![]() ![]() | Re: Miserable days ahead This world will come to an end in its time, but we don't need to sit around and worry about it. Not one ounce of worry will add one day to our lives. Making the best of each day is still worthwhile while we enjoy the fragile lives we hold dear. If your name is not in the "obituary" page of the newspaper, you've been given another day to enjoy a "glass half-full not a glass half-empty." Last edited by lmf; 09-26-2009 at 01:21 PM. |

| Forte User | Re: Miserable days ahead Actually, often it is pessimism that renders our life miserable. However, there are tomatoes with different shape and size at least where I am. It is another question that with an average salary in my country you can buy less tomatoes than you can probably do with an average salary in US.
