Motown Bound With all that is going on in my life right now; I have good news to share. While all this was going on with my father I was called for an employment opportunity with the Federal Governemnt in Detroit. This could not have come at a better time. I'll miss the south and the friends that I've made here. As you might have figured I accepted the job! So my wife and I have about 35 days to pack up all we own and move back to Michigan. We still own a house there I just have to have my renters move out of it. Many other things to do also. I'll start my new job April 2, 2007 My father's birthday! So look out Michigan; I'm coming home!

Re: Motown Bound Better get yor sight reading chops in shape...ya never know when some clown will ask you to rehearse! And oh yeah.....you're going to have to learn some growls, shakes, falls, whaps, glisses, and how to look disgusted at the trombone section. Learn what a plunger is really used for, it is not cool to use a bottle of Liquid Plumber when the chart says plunger. Leave the snake home too. You leaving Alex, so leave that giant Monette mouthpiece in Georgia and got one that says something like maybe Jet Tone on it...maybe with Bill Chase or Charlie Shavers in small letters. I'll make sure you get to a REAL HOCKEY game too! -cw-

Re: Motown Bound Some of the Sinatra charts and those by Billy May or Nelson Riddle have 1/4 and 1/8 note "hits" with a fast close to open plunger as you hit the note. Sometimes notated as "Whap". -cw-
