![]() | movie audience moments Hope this can be a fun thread for our varied memories. Can you name a favorite moment in a movie or moments in several movies where part of the enjoyment of a certain moment was the collective reaction from the audience. Usually such moments are a tremendous twist in the plot or some such surprise that NO ONE expected. I have to say, this is one of the things I look forward to most whe I go to a movie is enjoying great moments like that with a theater full of people! The only "rule" is that I ask you to include theater experiences, not at home watching a DVD or tape. Some of my favorites: The revelation at the end of "The Sting". The return of Superman's powers at the end of the second Superman movie. "I AM your father" The "birth" in the movie "Alien". Those are only a few of the many, many ones I enjoyed. Okay, y'all... let's hear your favorite "audience reaction moments"! ML |

![]() | Another one that comes to mind..... "I WANT THE TRUTH! THE TRUTH, SON YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!" The exchange between Jack Nicholson's character and Tom Cruise's in "A Few Good Men" Not quite unexpected but Good audience reaction... The Green Mile when John Coffee is executed..... A very sad moment that brought even the toughest of men in the audience to tears... Most unexpected.

| Piano User | Star Wars Episode II Clone Wars, I went to the midnight showing (yes, I'm a Star Wars nut), and towards the end when Count Duku says "we musn't let them get our secret plans" or something along those lines, the ENTIRE theatre simultaneously wispered "Death Star," it was one of the funniest and kind of creepiest moments I've ever had in a theater.

![]() ![]() ![]() | Don't forget when Dark Helmet pushed it to Ludicrous Speed. Everyone gasped. And speaking of gasping...add the "You boys have had enough beans scene". -cw-
