Movie and television show Fanfares

You know Manny is on to something here...

As I was posting for his thread I got the idea for this one...

So many movies and television shows come to mind I'll try not to list them all!

Some of my favorites:

Battlestar Galactica
Star Wars
Superman
Rocky
Indiana Jones

Okay that should get it started I'll stop now any others?

Oh yeah,

All good ones guys....

The Harry Potter movies all have some pretty good tunes with fanfares in them as well.. I'm kind of partial to John Willams stuff though so I guess that's why I like them.

Which was the Star Trek that had that cool trumpet solo at the beginning? I think it was DS9. Jag also had a nice trumpet solo.

Good one!

I had forgot all about DS9 but your right it had a very cool legato trumpet piece in it's opening.

There was also a rather forgetable show from the 80's called "Supercarrier" with a smokin' opening theme that featured Maynard Ferguson. In fact, if memory serves, MF's production company produced the show (or was at least the musical producer)

Anybody know of 'Natural Trumpet' or bugle fanfares?

I have been looking for these for some time now. I've been researching fanfares as they may have been performed for ancient Kings, special occasions/events, possible Temple use, etc using the pure silver straight (valve less) trumpet.

the 'rocky' fanfare that shows up on the soundtrack is from a fanfare by 'anon' on an old nonesuch lp by ed tarr & co., played by them on natural trumpets.
