| Forte User | My foot tastes bad... Yesterday at marching band practice, I was doing a recording of the group and wanted to check the room reverb so I had them play one note. Then, asked for it again, but... wait for it... "long, and hard and strong". Another time, we were talking about how to take in full breaths to play full and open, so I told the band "Say Ho!" ..... not good! One other time, I was on the podium and felt a little stiff in the shoulders, so I gave my head a slight roll and wiggled my shoulders a bit. 7th grader says to me: "What did you do that for?" My response: "I get a bit stiff sometimes." Much giggling and sniggering. GAH!!!

| Mezzo Forte User | LOL. That reminds me of the time in marching band where the directors were up on the podium, and one of them was yelling at the trumpets saying that we weren't loud enough. Keep in mind that the principal of the school was standing there, watching us rehearse. He yells, on the megaphone, 'Come on, trumpets! Give it all up! Quit sucking those things, and blow harder!' It was the funniest thing in the world to see the look on the principal's face. Lara
