'SPACE ALIENS SIGNED THE MOON OVER TO ME. . . AND I HAVE THE CONTRACT TO PROVE IT!'

ALBANY, N.Y. -- When entrepreneur Gregory Stanford was abducted by aliens, he didn't panic and beg his space-traveling captors for release. Instead, he used his business savvy to strike a deal with his extraterrestrial kidnappers, ending up with a deed to the moon!

According to Stanford, he awoke one evening to find himself strapped to an examination table aboard a flying saucer. To his left, a small, hairless being was about to inject him with a strange needle-like instrument.

Thinking quickly, the 33-year-old businessman used his sales experience to gain the trust of the E.T., and then negotiated an intergalactic trade in which he would receive all rights to the moon. When asked what he gave his captors in exchange, Stanford pleads the fifth.

"According to the terms of the contract, I cannot disclose that information," says a tight-lipped Stanford.

Stanford claims the 8- by 10-inch document, which is written in a language not known on Earth, entitles him to full ownership of the moon and all materials within a 500-mile radius of the orb's surface.

As such, Stanford insists that he is owed royalties on any television, film, or printed material bearing the likeness of his property or songs using the word "moon" in their title, including the movie Man in the Moon, and popular songs like
MoonRiver.

"Balderdash!" says one legal expert.

"First of all, no one here on Earth can even read the contract! And secondly, how do we know that these aliens even actually owned the moon?"

Such criticism does not bother Stanford.
