Just joined, but had to unsubscribe. Yes, I am confused, ignorant, choose it. But, there's no where on the site to explain how the site operates for new people and that it is an email based forum site. We have a tel line internet connection: rural downeast Maine. Last night the 100's of emails filled Outlook Express from TPIN; not a good policy for slow connections. Is there any way I can participate in the TPIN "forums" without our ( it is shared) Outlook box being innundated with TPIN emails ? I had to unsubscribe to save the house. Much thx.

Re: New to TPIN You can join and receive a digest, which comes out once a day containing the day's posts. That's a good option for users in your situation.

We have a tel line connection: it is not DSL, T-1, or Satellite that most of you are accustomed to. It is therefore slow. Reason? Location in rural Downeast Maine with convoluted topography that makes it difficult and expensive even for wireless e.g. repeaters and multiple antennas. We cannot have too many emails such as the response to this posting and others "automatically" sent to our email address. No digest is needed . BTW: I have been involved with computers since graduate work in the 70's, in university, and software companies. Not a novice. So, can I post here without receiving emails ? Most other sites allow posting and communciation strictly within the site. And, please, no email response ? Much thx.
