One month from today...

...starts move-in at the U of I! *dances around*

I can't wait! I hope that my roomie isn't some crazy psycho girl! She seems pretty nice and everything, so, maybe not.

I'm thinking about going dorm-accessory shopping this weekend after work sometime. I need towels, storage stuff, and all that other crazy junk. I still need to find a laptop too...I really want a Macbook (even though I've never used a Mac!) but it's so expensive!

Anyone else gearing up for college this fall?

Lara

Sounds like a great time to be Lara!

Your roomie is probably hoping that you are not some...

"brownie making, trumpet playing, prima donna musician with her own custom made trumpet and pink hair!"

Have a great time and keep us informed!

I move in 1 month and 5 days from now... although I wouldn't mind if my room mate is a crazy psycho girl... haha, just kidding.

Not to "pee on your cornflakes", but you may find it useful to have an "exit plan".

...an 'exit plan'? For whatever for? I mean, if I don't like my roomie or something, I can always go crash at my best friend's dorm...and vice versa. Heh, my floor is open to any of my friends in need. (Ok...not like that....let's not get carried away here!)

I'm going to go dorm shopping tomorrow! I need basic stuff for a desk space and living in a dorm...*sigh* It's all so expensive, and this year's colors SUCK. lol.

An "exit plan" for your you, or your room-mate. It is wise to discuss at the onset, if one or the other of you find that the arrangement is not compatible, to amicably seek another room-mate.

Eliminates much "angst" and possible hard-feelings.

Many of us (college attendees) have "horror-stories" regarding "room-mates from hell".

Robt

p.s. -- Good Luck, anyhow!

Roomates can be tricky. My first roomie was a ver nice guy from California. Unfortunatley he was also the biggest pot head in the dorm. Luckily I spent most of my time with my girlfriend. Then I moved in with a buddy I met in Marching Band the next semester. So things worked out for me.
