![]() | Opera singer Alagna walks off stage at La Scala Not sure how many folks follow the goings-on in the opera world, but this whole thing is kinda funny: Roberto Alagna storms offstage of La Scala's Aida La Scala fires Roberto Alagna following walkout; suits and countersuits threatened Those Italians sure are serious about their opera |

| Forte User | Re: Opera singer Alagna walks off stage at La Scala I saw that on MyAuditions. Not being in attendance, there isn't much I can say except that maybe he should have stuck through at least the scene before running out. Maybe that would have given his understudy a bit more time to get into costume. Or maybe just stuck it out. What makes him think he'll still have a job after that? To the audience, I would think that's kind of rude behavior. (Remembering the stories surrounding the premiere of Le Sacre I guess it isn't so bad). I understand they pay good money for their tickets and all, but each performance represents literally a lifetime of work, and so deserves at least respect for that.

![]() | Re: Opera singer Alagna walks off stage at La Scala That's going to cost him. Very unprofessional to walk offstage, and in the middle of an aria! He'll probably survive, he is the world's leading tenor right now, but he's going to take some flak for it and it's going to take a while. A musician of his experience should know how passionate the Iralians are, particularly when it comes to opera. You just can't do a half-arsed job and get away with it. It's one reason that new British singers get put off at La Scala when the audience laughs at the funny bits! Arsey Frenchman.

![]() | Re: Opera singer Alagna walks off stage at La Scala Funniest part of that video - he tries to storm off "stage left" and realizes there's no way to get off the stage that direction It's also not everyday you see an ancient Egyptian general in 21st-century streetclothes |

![]() | Re: Opera singer Alagna walks off stage at La Scala I'd like to see more of the production in question and find out if they had reason to boo him. Italians are a tough audience, and really know their opera , but sometimes are too unforgiving.

| Forte User | Re: Opera singer Alagna walks off stage at La Scala completely inexusable in my opinion. I can't view most videos from work, but I've read the stories. I don't care if the audience is being rude, grow a backbone and be professional. The audience owes more respect, yes, but by storming off the stage, was he any better?

![]() | Quote: Hey Wilmer, You wanna transa- late-a fora da rest of usa whoa noah bilingual? Seriously, I don't know what the tenor was so pissed about. Initially, there was applause. It's not like he was booed off the stage. I've seen worse. (I was at the Dylan concert, real close to the stage too - when Sinead got booed off the stage). There were a few hecklers who booed, but He just said "screw this" and left. Can't help but recall the words of my teacher James F. Burke : "People don't come to hear you play. They come to hear you screw up." If this guy is the leading tenor in the world................................not for long. Just my opinion. | |

![]() | Re: Opera singer Alagna walks off stage at La Scala it takes forever for me to download videos and then i get 2 seconds of it followed by 5 minutes of reconnecting, is there anything in there that has him deserving to be booed? celeste aida is a nasty aria, and there is no going into it easily, the tenor has 2-3 lines of recit and then into it, so it is not very far into the act.
