Here's the ironic part... "Williams, a Social Security recipient, went to the Salvation Army, where she received $430.67, and Consumers agreed to match $430.66 toward the bill." In other words, the same electric company that PAID HALF shut off the power because she was still a penny short!

Hmm... wonder what ENRON would have done.

i know some employees of Public Service Electric and Gas--they specifically bill people for any amount they come up short--they will make you aware of that penny before they take any action

but honestly its a PENNY!!!!! Go look outside i am sure you will find one on the street within a mile!!

I know in Massachusetts it is illegal for energy companies to shut off services between November and March. Maybe it holds true in her state. Her $1600+ bill would lead me to believe that may be the case.
