![]() | I shoot my own reload ammo at the range, and do reload some hunting and defense ammo. HOWEVER . . . I'll never use my load my own stuff in my defensive handguns for protection ammo. Why? Because lawyers will sometimes use it against folks in court who were forced to use their weapons in self-defense . . . when the lawyer uses the fact that the ammo was hand-loaded. They'll tell the jury that you deliberately wanted to hurt someone as viciously as possible, so you loaded your own brew to inflict maximum destruction! So, instead, I use Federal Hydra-Shock store-bought ammunition . . . that's been shown to be the most effective in actual documented police street-fights. The Lawyers can't rip me for loading some weird load . . . and the Hydra-Shock is as good, or possibly better, than anything I could load anyway. Here's my loads: .357 - Federal 125 gn. Hydra-Shock .45 - Federal 230 gn. Hydra-Shock I also use Federal in my .38s (P+) due to the softer Federal primers that ALWAYS go bang in a revolver. I'm going to be reloading some .38 wadcutters tonight, to plink next weekend in a snubbie. Somehow I've allowed myself to run out!!! T. |

![]() | I use Glaser Pow'RBall .38 Special +P 100 gr in my Taurus 605 .357 revolver. This is for home defense only. For personal defense are there any suggestions for a 9mm Taurus Millennium? THANKS!
