Politically correct holiday greeting

I would like to send out some sort of holiday greeting to all my dear
friends, but it is difficult to know exactly what to say without risking
offending someone. So I've taken legal advice and am able to say the
following:

Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for
an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress,
non-addictive, gender neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday,
practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion
or secular practices of your choice, and be assured of my full respect for
the religious/secular persuasions and/or traditions of others, or their
choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all.

Also I wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling, and
medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted
calendar year 2007, but not without due respect for the calendars of
choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make
the world a great place, and without regard to the race, creed, colour,
age, physical ability, religious faith, or sexual preference of the
wishee.

By accepting this greeting, you are accepting these terms: This greeting
is subject to clarification or withdrawal. It is freely transferable with
no alteration to the original greeting. It implies no promise by the wishor
to actually implement any of the wishes for himself/herself or others, and is void
where prohibited by law, and is revocable at the sole discretion of the
wishor.

This wish is warranted to perform as expected within the usual application
of good tidings for a period of one year, or until the issuance of a
subsequent holiday greeting, whichever comes first, and warranty is
limited to replacement of this wish or issuance of a new wish at the sole
discretion of the wishor.

Disclaimer:

No trees were harmed in the sending of this message, however, while a
significant number of electrons were inconvenienced, no bits were lost.

Re: Politically correct holiday greeting

This post has me comparing and contrasting living in the North Vs. The South

It's funny; but down here there are nativity scenes everywhere and the signs Merry Christmas abound; even in stores.

Back home (Michigan) some communities are kicking nativity scenes out of places they've been for decades and Merry Christmas was replaced by the more politically correct Happy Holidays.

Either way I wish you all:

A Happy Merry ChrsmaHanaakuhKwansaramadonmis! That should cover most of them anyway.

Re: Politically correct holiday greeting

This thread reminds me of one of the most LAME 'holiday concerts' I have ever had the misfortune of having to participate in.

My freshman year of high school, the show choir I was in had to perform in the annual Holiday concert (that brings in all the elementary school's choirs and all of our own choirs) called "Cocoa and Carols". We had one of the closing acts and had to sing the popular and well known, "We Wish you a Merry Christmas".

Well, the choir director we had that year decided that "We Wish you a Merry Christmas" wasn't PC enough. She changed it and the words to, "We Wish you a Happy Holiday"....it was LAME and we seriously confused a bunch of little children who started to sing along.

ARgh.

Merry Christmas Ya'll!

Lara... that's a funny (but sad) story. I'm trying to sing that and it just doesn't work...
