Is it possible to indentify a clarinet online: Wooden or plastic?

I was wondering where would I get a wooden clarinet.By looking at a clarinet picture how would I know if it plastic or wooden. I know a guy who bought a clarinet and he was told it was wooden. It ended up to be plastic!

Look for new green growth - it then has to be wood.

Buy a reputable brand name and research the model before you buy it.
There are some really convincing 'wood grain' patterns used on plastic clarinets these days.

You may instead consider investing your money in a set of quality, hand made wooden duck calls.
