Proud of my students

I wanted to share this will all of my freinds here. I am very proud of my HS band kids. We went to Toronto yesterday for a band trip...play a few pieces for an couple adjudicators then spent the afternoon at Canada's Wonderland.

They played the best they have ever played yesterday, even missing a few kids who had prior engagements (it was, after all, a day off of school). Kids showed up at school at 5:15 am to load equipment. Not a single complaint. Their behavior was professional at the festival site, and completely supportive of all the other groups as well with kind applause from the front row. They listened, adjusted to a very live hall, and played their way to their best performance all year.

Their behavior at the park, on the bus, and at dinner was exemplary. I am very proud of them, and had a wonderful time.

Hey Glenn,

That's great.. I really believe based on my own expirences that their behavior and performance is a direct reflection of your work with them so weather you want to or not; take some time to congratulate yourself!

I've been watching you post throughout the year with interest. I can tell you have a special place in your heart for what you do.

Bravo maestro!

Keep up the good work.. I'm sure educators like you are hard to come by!

I am hoping our kids are just as good today. They are running a marathon here in Lethbridge and there is a different musical performance group every mile along the route. The kids' H.S. jazz band will be performing. It is presently 40 degrees and raining (as it has been all weekend!). They WILL be warmly dressed. Now if they can only stay in tune..........................

(Oh... they have to be 'on deck' at 8 am this morning... I believe they're both in the shower(s) right now. Anyway their breakfast is in the process of getting cold. That'll teach them to stay up half the night reading.)
