Recording Equipment????? Help

Hi all

I do not have any real experience with recording equipment at all, so i was hoing some of you clever people might be able to enlighten me a little.

What i am looking for is the cheapest decent set up that will record to a decent standard in my workshop when certain players come by.

This will NOT be going onto my site of course, but for me personally so it does not have to be to that standard.

Ive seen some small 4 track recorders like Tascam and Fostex! are they what i am looking for?

Regards

Leigh

Oh yeah nearly forgot! suitable microphone????

Cheers

If you want to keep cost down I'd use a minidisc recorder and drop mics
from the ceiling, about $200-$250 total.

You will find all sorts of people will now try to convince you to spend a bunch more....

2 years ago, my Sharp minidisc recorder was $90 and my
' Spider mics' with electet elements, 2m cable and correct
connector were $60. If you look you can get the same or better for
about the same cost.
