Manny Laureano has a spectacular aura about
I can't tell you how many times I've said "Wax on, wax off" to my students as a sign that I'm not ready to be questioned about a technique I'm teaching them. They smile and get on with it and eventually understand when they achieve a result without being distracted by the process.

My kids love that first movie and I appreciate the writing that went into it. It's nice when a pop culture icon actually represents something positive and Morita's "Miyagi" certainly did that. Even the "evil" kid congratulates Daniel at the end of the match.

Goodbye, Pat Morita.

Ah man.... I met him on St. Patrick's Day back in '87. IIRC

I was invited to his birthday party in Santa Monica at (jeez the rib place).

We had a "Happy St. Pat Morita's Day" party.

condolences to his family and friends.
